John Thistle was one of the Orginizer's of the Painters and Decorators union in Chicago. When my great grand father August Martine left my great grand mother, Clara, the Thistles helped raise their three boys, Orville, Claude and Dewey. His wife Madge (Margaret) was my Great Grand Mother's Sister.
