Norman P. Achey, 43, of East Main Street, Richland, died suddenly at 3:45 o'clock Sunday morning in the Lebanon Sanatorium where he was admitted Saturday afternoon. Dr. Patrick L. Frank, Lebanon County Coroner, said he would conduct an autopsy today to determine the cause of death; however, he said it appeared that a kidney stroke was the apparent cause of death. Achey underwent a kidney operation about two years ago. Achey, who had been in apparent good health, worked in his garden Saturday afternoon. Upon returning indoors he complained of severe pain. He was rushed to the hospital v/here his condition rapidly weakened until his death a few hours later. The son of Mrs. Florence Hartman Achey Moore and the late P. Norman Achey, he was well known throughout the county as a sportsman. He was associated with the Lebanon County Beagle Club, the Lebanon Valley Sportsmen's Association and the Mt. Bethany Deer Camp. He was also an associate member of the Lebanon lodge of Fraternal Order of Police and the Kleinfeltersville Relief Association. He worshipped in the Reformed faith. Deceased was employed as a knitter at the Gloray Knitting Mill. He is survived by his wife, the former Elva Binkley; a daughter, Lila, wife of John Bulliner, Richland; his mother, Mrs. Florence Moore, of Newmanstown, and his maternal grandparents, Jacob and Lizzie Hartman, of Richland.
