Mr. Atwater is survived by three daughters, Judith Ann (Dale) Wilcoxen of Havana, Shirley Jean Bretthauer of Haines, AK, Elva Stigall of Havana, two sons, Ronald (Ina) and Gary (Sheila) Atwater, both of Havana, 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and two brothers, Kenneth and Frances.
Mr. Atwater was a charter member of the Havana Church of Christ, Mason County Farm Bureau and Irrigated Growers. He farmed in Mason County for many years. He worked for Caterpillar Inc. from 1966 until his retirement in 1981.
Funeral services will be held at Havana Church of Christ at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012 with visitation two hours prior to the services. Burial will follow the service at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Bill Boyce will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church – Operation Christmas Fund or Riverview Estates.
