Her mother passed away when she was 4 1/2 years old and she was then lovingly raised by her maternal Aunt Huldah Alling & J."Emory" Roberts. Their daughter Lessie May became her dearest of cousins. When she became old enough to be of help in the household, her oldest brother Ora Hart came and took her to Iowa. It is there that she met and married Jesse King Edinger on August 22, 1888 in LeMars, Iowa.
In 1903 she traveled with her husband and family to northern Wi. in a covered wagon. They settled south of Kennan on the Jump River building a home for their family.
Gertrude's children & grandchildren can attest to the fact that she loved to play Chinese Checkers. She was also an amazing woman of faith who loved children.
Children: Ethel, Clifford, Jessie, Leona, Winifred, David & Fern. She was proceeded in death by husband Jesse and daughter Winifred and entered eternal life on September 29, 1956 in Kennan, Wisconsin. Buried in the Kennan Cemetery along side of her husband Jesse Edinger.
