James A. Surpluss

James A. Surpluss, 81, died Thursday at his home, 2512 Buchanan and funeral services will be held at the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary Saturday at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Surpluss was born in Galesburg, Ill., July 19, 1867, moved to Kansas at the age of three and settled in El Dorado. For the last 15 years he had lived in Topeka. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Beryl Surpluss; a son, Ralph, of Topeka; two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Gibson, of Richmond, Calif., and Mrs. Mildred Austin, of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Hembree and Mrs. Josie Armor, of Wichita, and five grandchildren.
