Vancouver judge and author. Helen was very active in women's rights, and found support for her cause at the University Women's Club. After joining the club, she became chair of the Laws Committee. Helen's efforts for women's rights proved fruitful when in 1912, a law was passed that allowed to practice the bar in British Columbia. In 1917, Helen became the first woman appointed judge in the province of British Columbia and the third woman to be appointed judge in Canada. Her book "How to Conduct Public Meetings in Canada," was published in 1939.
