NOTE: The original headstones of this lineage are RUMPEL as is all documentation in Germany. The newer placed stones (as in the photo placed by Jennifer) have changed the spelling to Rumbel.

Jacob, son of the immigrant Johannes Rumpel of Stuttgart, State of Wurttemberg, Germany (and Bergfelden earlier) and Anna Catharina (Cuntz aka Kuntz - by association and record documents of associated events, locations and relationships) is proven by DNA and documented evidence. His siblings were Joh. Conrad, John Jr., Catharina, Hanna, Joh. Frederich, Eva, Joh. Daniel, Joh. George, Joh. Philip twin of Peter, and Daniel. (Note: Joh. stands for Johannes and translates to John. As in the German naming tradition, all males in this family have the first name of John; although not used in several records found)

Jacob's children and wives are as follows: A document found in the Orphans Court Docket of Northampton County dated 24 August 1808, states he was married to the two daughters (deceased) of Jacob Geiger and has two surviving children, both under the age of 14. He asks to be appointed guardian of the children, Jacob and Maria Barbara Rumble, (Anna Maria (1796-1796 a third child, is deceased at this time). The mothers of these children being; Eva Geiger 1769-1798 and Catherine Geiger, deceased daughters of Jacob Geiger. Both children were entitled to receive their respective mothers' portions of their grandfather Geiger's, estate. The court appointed John Keck guardian for the children. Orphans Court Book #8, page 134.
