OAK GROVE - Funeral services for John Dealie "J. D." Fowler, Sr., age 84, of Oak Grove, Louisiana will be held at 10AM on Monday, January 26, 2009 at Kilbourne Pentecostal Church in Kilbourne, Louisiana.
Reverends Ronald Ratley and Mike Howard will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Kilbourne Cemetery in Kilbourne, Louisiana.
Services are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove.
Mr. Fowler died at West Carroll Memorial Hospital in Oak Grove.
Mr. Fowler was a member of the Kilbourne Pentecostal Church. He was a retired pipeliner and was a bus driver for the City of Monroe. A veteran of WWII, he served as a private in the European Theatre. He was a member of the Oak Grove Lodge #284 F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite body, and the Barak Shrine Temple. He was an avid horseman and performed quaddrill.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Fowler; daughter, Kathy Jonette Fowler, great grandchild, Zachary Bowman; and his parents, John Andrew Fowler and Dealie Lee Fowler.
He is survived by his son, John Dealie Fowler, Jr. of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; daughter and son-in-law, Anita Val and Ronald Bowman of Oak Grove; granddaughter, Krista Leigh Bowman Cockerham of Oak Grove; grandson, Scott Bowman of Monahans, Texas; granddaughter, Tonya Michelle Bowman Morris of Oak Grove; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Pallbearers are: Billy Tom Albritton, Eugene Whitney, Billy Fowler, Earl Cockerham, Doug Wheelington, Ken Wheelington, Tony Bowman, Mark Bowman, and Phillip Morris.
Family will receive friends at Kilbourne Pentecostal Church until time of service
