EMILY MARIE CURIE, 73, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008, at Laurels of DeKalb in Butler. She was born Aug. 13, 1935, in Defiance County, Ohio, to the late Oleus "Guy" and Erma Leota (Kisabeth) Shull. She married Harold G. Curie on Feb. 19, 1954, in Coburn Corners Church of Christ in St. Joe; he survives in St. Joe. Emily worked as a part-time seamstress in various shops. She was the District's Women Leader for Indiana Farm Bureau for nine years (1994-2003). She also served in various volunteer groups including being a 4-H leader, and the Domestic Arts of the Dekalb County Free Fall Fair. She was a member of Coburn Corners Church of Christ and was in the last graduating class (1953) of Spencerville High School.
In addition to her husband, also surviving are a son; a daughter; 3 grandchildren; and a sister. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Holly Rardin.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday at Coburn Corners Church of Christ in St. Joe, (corner of SR 101 and CR 64), with Pastor Larry Carter officiating. Calling is from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church. Burial in Alton Cemetery.
