Jimmie Neal Winstead, 83, passed from this life Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Hospice Ministries, Ridgeland.

Visitation is 9:00-11:00am Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm at Union Baptist Church in Puckett with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church.

He was born March 5, 1929 in Puckett, a son of the late Stancel Winstead and Victoria Story Winstead.

Mr. Winstead was a lifetime member of Union Baptist church at Puckett and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired as a road crew supervisor from Rankin County following a lengthy career in office equipment installation. He was an avid gardener, raising vegetables and making syrup on the family property in Puckett.

Survivors include sons, Jim Anderson (Brenda) and Ricky Hartzog (Debbie); daughters, Vicki Foster (David), Cindy McIntosh and Penny Winstead; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eloyce Winstead.
