Graveside service for Bessie Faries, 89, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Jimmy Lehew, associate pastor, Locust Grove Baptist Church, east of Lawton, officiating. Mrs. Faries died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2003, at a local hospital. Arrangements are by Becker Funeral Home. She was born Oct. 30, 1914, in Greer County, to Emory and Carrie B. Pool Mayfield. She married Leamon B. Faries on Sept. 4, 1937, in Hobart. He died April 16, 1989. She and her husband owned and operated Faries Help Your Self Laundry for many years. Later she was a clerk at AB Drug and Earl Drug. She retired from Earl Drug South. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Michael L. and Judy Faries, Lawton; three grandchildren: David Faries, Fletcher; Stephanie Hall and her husband, Chris, Elgin; and Chris Faries, Elk City; and four great-grandchildren: Tiffany Faries, Shania Faries, Megan Emerson and Christie Lee Hall.
