Helen Hope Moss was born Oct. 2, 1926, in Chickasha to Miriam Sophia Quinby and E. L. Moss, the youngest of seven children born to her parents and who preceded her in death.

The oldest child, Dixie Belle died at birth but David A. Moss, Dora Margaret (Hollar), Elna Elizabeth (Walker), June Ellis (Leary), and Bill Lee Moss all walked through life with Helen Hope until old age.

Helen married her first husband, Jack, at age 15 and to that union was born Jack O. Anderson, Jr., Buffalo, Mo., and Harvey Lee Anderson of Sacramento, Calif.

After years of living on the west coast and in Southern Oklahoma, she moved to Ponca City and worked in the janitor force for Continental Oil Co.

After her marriage 42 years ago to Ed Litle, Helen and Ed lived in Guthrie, Ponca City, and later Newkirk for a good many years before relocating to Buffalo, Mo., two years ago.

She was a member of the Church of Christ in Newkirk and hated to leave Newkirk because of her friends there but felt she needed to be in close proximity to her son in Missouri because of her failing health. She had a sharp mind until the end early Tuesday morning, May 22, 2012, when the hard tedious job of breathing with oxygen became ineffective. She had the grace given to her by our God to have the time during her affliction to reflect on everything life had held and to prepare to take the hand of Jesus when He came for her.

Her sister, Elna Walker, who died Aug. 10, last year - and is Heaven's gain - was a shining light and an example of what being a Christian was all about, and who was sorely missed by Helen during her last year of life.

Helen was buried Friday Morning, May 25, at the IOOF Cemetery next to Bill and Elna Walker.

To all of you who remember Helen we desire you to know that she was repentant and totally renewed in her mind and enjoined with the Lord for the journey she was about to take with Him when He came for her. When she said to tell everyone she loved them her eyes were clear and bright with a glow of serenity and a sweet smile. We said goodbye — for a while.
