Funeral for C. C.Leland, Civil War Veteran and Pioneer, to Be at 2 Today
Funeral services for Charles C. Leland, Civil war veteran and resident of Minneapolis for more than 50 years who died Sunday at the Leamington hotel, will be held today at 2 p. m. at Lakewood chapel. Members of the John A. Rollins post, G. A. R., will be in charge of services. Born in Vermont in 1845, Mr. Leland enlisted in Company C of the First Vermont volunteer cavalry and served through the Civil war. Then he came to Minneapolis at the close of the hostilities and engaged in the real estate business here for a number of years, retiring from active business about 20 years ago. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary W. Leland, and a brother-in-law, George A. Woodbury, of Bala, Kan., who has come to Minneapolis for the funeral.
