from Jacksonville Journal obits: Elbert G Rose, 71, native of Alabama, well known resident of Oakhurst (off Lem Turner near Trout River), died at his home last night after a lengthy illness. He lived several years in Nashville TN, where he became a member of Pine Tree camp, No 34 WOW, and came to Jacksonville eight years ago. Surviving him are three sons: Elbert, Jr of San Francisco CA; Henry and RV of Jacksonville and four granddaughters and three grandsons. Services 23 Octobert at 10am, Rev WS Staley, pastor of the Norwood Baptist church, officiating. Interment was in the family lot in West Evergreen cemetery.
