CARTHAGE, Ill. -- Mrs. Nellie W. Laffey, 89, formerly of Carthage, died at 2 a.m. Monday (Jan. 31, 1977) in the Restmor Nursing Home in Morton, Ill., where she had lived since 1968.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Carthage. The Rev. John Weishar will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery here. The Rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Kilgore-Leathem Funeral Home in Carthage.
Mrs. Laffey was born on March. 21, 1887, at West Point, Ill., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Clampitt. She married Timothy Laffey on Oct. 16, 1912, in Carthage. He died Sept. 12, 1970. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Irene) Ryan of Peoria, Mrs. Josephone Bonansinga of Springfield, Ill., Mrs. William (Mary) Clarey of Peoria, and Mrs. Thomas (Helen) Dixon of Fort Wayne, Ind.; two sons, Paul of Eldon, Mo., and John of Carthage; 29 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, a sister and three brothers.
