Otto Goehring, age 81, of Lodi, passed away at home on January 13, 2010.
He was born January 22, 1928, in Mound City, South Dakota, to Samuel and Katherina (Brockel)) Goehring. The family moved to Lodi when Otto was a young boy, he was educated here and graduated from Lodi High School, class of 1947. In a few years he was married to Marilyn Gretsinger.
He was a self-employed dairy farmer and cattle rancher for many years. He was a member of the Glory Bound Fellowship Church, affetionately known as the Cowboy Church, in Valley Springs. He played football at Lodi High School and Delta College, his nickname's were "Pin Wheel" and "Buzz saw." He traveled to Candad, Europe, and the East Coast.
Otto ebnoyed playing his guitar, singing with the family and friends. He even wrote and recorded a song for the San Francisco 49ers, his favorite team. He sent the song to the team, and they wrote him a very nice letter of thanks. In addition to watching football, he enjoyed basketball.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn; daughter, Norene Bertsch and son-in-law Mike; three grandsons and their wives, Jeremy and Kristen Bertsch, Sonny and Jessalee Goehring and Chester and Tonyo Goehring; two great grandchildren; brothers, Philip, Elk Grove, Walter, Acampo, and Oscar, Lockeford; sisters, Irene Biederman of Sacramento and Helen Henry of Volcano.
