Roy Charles Ridings was a son of Urban L. and Beatrice (Travis) Ridings. He moved with his parents to this commnity where he attended Terrapin Ridge School and Greenville High School. He was employed at Olin Winchester Manufacturing Company for many years before his retirement. Prior to his death he was a night watchman at the Trade Winds Marina in Keyesport on the Carlyle Lake for 7 years. Roy and Ruth Tyson were married at the Glenview Church in Glen Carbon, July 16, 2005. Ruth survives, as do sisters Lila Darnell of Orlando FL & Galda Burcham of Gallatin, TN; Brothers Melford (Bud) Ridings & James of Greenville, Daughter Rita Curtis; Stap children Debbie Barret, Ashley Stuffelbeam, Elizabeth Tyson, Josh Tyson & Teddy Stuffelbeam; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother Urban (Tuny) and two sisters, Mildred & Helen Ruth. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, watching TV and playing cards with friends. 75 to 100 attended church and dinner May 20 and 60 or more attended his graveside service after dinner and helped distribute his ashes to his memorial at his parents grave.
