He attended Freeport High School and graduated from DeVry Institute in Chicago in 1968.
He was employed by Mid-America Dairymen Inc. in Juda, Wis.
His pastimes included golfing, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include one son, Michael (Tammy) Abbott of Beloit, Wis.' his father, William (Joyce) Abbott of Freeport; one brother, Roger Abbott of Garden Grove, Calif.; and his stepfather, Tom Brannick of Freeport.
His mother, Josephine Noeske Brannick, and his grandparents preceded him in death.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Schwarz Funeral Home in Freeport.
The Rev. Steve Barr, associate youthg pastor at Evangelical Full Gospel Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Schwarz Funeral Home.
