Lexington: Mrs Allie Claunch, 88, of Lexington, died Friday at a local nursing home. Services will be 3:30 pm Saturday at Primrose Funeral Home in Norman with burial in Resthaven Cemetery.

She was born in Ripley MS and came to Oklahoma in 1900. She was a Methodist.

Survivors include three sons, Clarence Cheatwood of Lexington, Frank Cheatwood, 4710 N Grove, Lacy of Norman; four daughters, Mrs Bessie Summers of Lexington, Mrs Myrtle Dodson of Norman, Mrs Bill Taylor of Noble, and Mrs Horace Usery of Noble; a brother, Fred Ayers of Ripley; and a sister, Mrs Lona Mattox of MS.

Married Nathan Cheatwood in 1894 when she was 14. They had at least ten children, including: Annie Mae, William Clarence, John T., Frank N., Lillie O., George Bennette, Bessie, Myrtle, Maudie L., and Jessie Paschell. Nathan was a farmer in Canadian, Cleveland County, Oklahoma. After he died in 1931, Almitche married Elmer Claunch. Almitche (Allie May Mitchie Ayers) was the daughter of Hattie Hayes and Simpson Ayers (1852-1931). She died in Moore, Cleveland County, Oklahoma April 15, 1968.

Elmer and Maggie Claunch divorced before 1930. In 1931, Elmer married the widow of Nathan Bennet Cheatwood, Allie May Mitchie (Almitchee) Ayers Cheatwood.
