Goldie Madge Mellinger, 95 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away October 25, 2011 at Camden-Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus, Parkersburg.

She was born August 5, 1916 in Reedy, Roane County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Okey and Mabel (Farnsworth) Wyatt.

Madge was educated in Roane County public schools and married the love of her life, Ross Mellinger in 1935. Throughout their 73 year marriage she enjoyed moving about the state of West Virginia as Ross pursued his career in forestry and soil conservation services. Following retirement in 1969, they made Parkersburg their permanent home. They enjoyed traveling about the United States and Canada, taking care of the family farm in Wirt County and enjoying life. She was a homemaker, a dedicated wife and mother to her children and a lifelong Presbyterian.

She is survived by her children, Dorothy Jean Oliver of Parkersburg, Sharon Lee Colombo and her husband, Jimmie of Parkersburg, and John Ross Mellinger and his wife, Carolyn of Millwood, W.Va. In addition she is survived by her sisters, Doris Ann Miller, Dorothy Elizabeth Lee, and Forest Elaine Miller and her husband, Ivan all of Barberton, Ohio; Barbara Lou Greathouse and her husband, Bernard of Hartville, Ohio, Ruth Irene Harris of Canal Fulton, Ohio, and Gladys March Cottle of Liverpool, W.Va.; her brother, Fordyce Chapman Wyatt and his wife, Faye of Ripley, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ross in October 2008; her brother, Charles Wyatt in 1929; her brother, Clarence "Dick" Wyatt in 2001; and her sister Wanda Lee Drake in 2003.

Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. Services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Larry Dale officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg.
