He was a graduate of Hobbs High School in Hobbs, NM and later attended and played football for McMurry University in Abilene, TX. He lived several years in Texas and New Mexico. He owned his own gasket company before moving to Mtn Home, AR in 1996. He then purchased Sealco Manufacturing and still owed and operated it at the time of his death.
He married Charlotte Coatney on February 5, 1972 in Seminole, TX.
Darrell is survived by his wife Charlotte; two children, Dawn Sims of Hobbs, NM; and Darrell Lynn Hanks of Odessa, TX; two step children, Regina Demoncore of Mtn Home, AR; and Shane Johnson of Hobbs, NM; one brother Hershel Hanks of Garland, TX.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Jason Hanks.
