Maudie Lucene Schultz was born on December 14, 1905 in Hastings and died October 17, 1994 at the age of 88. She was the daughter of George and Myrtle (Robbins) Motley. Maudie was one of five children born to this marriage. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran church by Pastor Albert Cholcher in 1928.

Maudie married Edward Schultz Jr in Glenwood, Iowa on December 29, 1924. They had six children. Maude lived in Kramer most of her life. She was a member of the Ladies Aid of St. John Lutheran Church and the Kramer Extension Club.

She is survived by her children, Bernadean Strufing, Arland and Beverly Schultz, Ronley Schultz, and Sharon and Harvey Duba; daughter-in-law, Jerry Schultz; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Agnes Motley and Kenneth and Evelyn Motley; sister-in-law Virginia Motley; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Myrtle Motley, husband, Edward Schultz Jr., two brothers, Clyde Motley and Ralph Motley, by an infant child, and son Wallace Schultz.

Funeral services were held October 21 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Kramer with the Rev. John Heckmann officiating. Soloist was Delbert Reiss accompanied by Jolene Reetz. Burial was in Lincoln Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Bryan Duba, Rodney Strufing, Randall Schultz, Dusty Duba, Russell Strufing, and Ronley Schultz Jr.
