Mrs. Sula Piquard, a native of Jackson County, was married to Emil Piquard in 1903 at Murphysboro. He survived as did children, Earl of Carbondale; Henry and Ted, both of Hurst; Emil Jr. and Eugene, both of Peoria; George of Centreville; Ray of Alhambra; Mrs. Pearl Mitchell of Murray, KY and Mrs. Betty Cranhan of Carlsbad, NM.
Mrs. Piquard was a member of the Hurst Christian Church. She was a past matron of the Eastern Star in Hurst.
She died at the age of 73 on Friday, February 1, 1957 at her Hurst residence. Her funeral service was held at Hurst Christian Church. Rev. Dean Hill officiated. Walker Funeral Home of Hurst was in charge of arrangements.
