Evelyn Ruska, 84, of Grants Pass died Sunday, April 16, 2006, at her home.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors chapel. A celebration of life will begin at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to Lovejoy Hospice, 939 S.E. Eighth St., Grants Pass, OR 97526.

Ruska was born July 6, 1921, in Troy, S.D., to Lena and Albert Folger. She married in 1937 and had six sons and a daughter before divorcing.

On Nov. 7, 1952, in McCall, Idaho, she married Jack H. Ruska, who died before her. They had one son. In 1956, they moved to Grants Pass from McCall. She earned her GED in 1969. In 1983, she retired from Greater Oregon Health Services.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and Bible study.

Survivors include eight children, Leo Noahr of Livingston, Texas, Richard Noahr of Lacey, Wash., Jerry Noahr of Stanwood, Wash., Keith Ruska of Grants Pass, Don Ruska of Pasco, Wash., Evelyn Benson and Kevin Ruska, both of Grants Pass, and Bob Ruska of Lynchburg, Va.; 26 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Two grandsons, Randy Noahr and Kevin J. Ruska Jr., died before her.
