Otto was an Army veteran of World War II. He had been employed as a driver for Borden's Dairy for 30 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Local 207 of the Teamsters Union and of the church's Holy Name Society.
Otto Aloysius Burgard, 72 years old, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 1991, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He left his wife, Dorothy Frances Burgard; daughter, Judy; three sons, Gary, Bruce and James; his sister, Bernice Quinlan, of Coos Bay, Ore.; three brothers, Carl Burgard of Glendale, Nolan Burgard of Colorado Springs and William Burgard of Kansas City, Kan.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family received friends at the church, where the Rosary was prayed. The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Peter's Cathedral, followed by interment at Resurrection Cemetery in Lenexa.
