Braulio Vived was born in Alfajarin, Aragon, Spain on March 26, 1889, to Mariano and Gregoria Julian Vived.

In 1911, Braulio, along with his father and older brother Jose, immigrated to America. They left Zaragoza by train for Bordeaux, France. In France, they boarded the S/S New York, arriving in the Port of New York on Thursday, Nov. 09, 1911.

They traveled across country by train to the Hotel de Espana in San Francisco, CA, which was managed by Mr. Palacios, a maternal uncle of Mariano's brother (it was the custom in those days to name a sponsor in order to immigrate to America). From San Francisco, they traveled to Fresno to join Mariano's brother Jose and nephew Francisco.

During this period of California's history, many Europeans immigrated to the central San Joaquin Valley to gain employment at the numerous Miller and Lux ranches on the west side of Fresno County, located in San Joaquin, Mendota, Dos Palos and Los Banos. The Viveds quickly gained employment at the Miller and Lux Ranch in Mendota, where they worked for nearly a year to earn enough money to send for the rest of the family.

In 1925, Braulio married Juana Alvarez Eliceche, a well-to-do widow with five small children, in Fresno, CA., and from this union a son was born in 1927 at 926 "S" Street.

Eventually, they purchased a few head of cattle to start their own dairy in the Kerman area, at the west end of Shaw Avenue in Fresno County. They eventually relocated to southeastern Madera County.

For reasons unknown, Juana and Braulio separated, and Juana, who dropped the Vived name, chose to remain in her home in Fresno to raise her children; while Braulio, along with his parents, lived on the dairy in Madera. Braulio lived the remainder of his life in Madera and Fresno Counties.
