Alice M. Henry died in her home after a series of Strokes. She was a native of Hayward, Alameda County, California and a Fresno resident for almost 70 years.
Mrs. Henry was the daughter of Patrick and Jane (Downs) McKeever. Her father carried the mail between San Jose and Hayward on horseback in the early 1860s. At one time he raised horses for Lucky Martin, one of the old west's most famous gamblers. McKeever died in 1916.
Mrs. Henry and her husband, Frank, were married in the old St. John's Church, forerunner of St. John's Cathedral, at Fresno and "M" Streets in Fresno, California. Henry, a woodyard operator, died in 1957.
Alice was survived by a daughter, Mrs. Helene Anita Powless of Fresno, two granddaughters, Geraldine Frances (Johnson) Mahackian of Fresno and Anita Elizabeth (Johnson) Jawad of Walnut Creek, CA. She was also survived by eight great grandchildren.
