Death has come into our midst once more, and this time his icy hand has fallen upon one whom we could illy spare. Humanely speaking, Louisa E. Cain was born July 16th, 1830, and died Oct. 2nd, 1878, aged 48 yrs. 2 mos. And 15 days. For 35 years she was a faithful member of the M. E. church, and through all the trying scenes of life she grew more and more in the image of her master, whom she faithfully served. She was a widow, and left nine children to mourn her loss; a faithful mother, she has left her children a noble example. May the God of the fatherless –may the orphan's God be theirs. The funeral took place at the M. E. church in this place on Friday last, and was largely attended.

We have to return thanks to those young people who so kindly assisted in furnishing the music at the funeral. It shows a good state of affairs when calls of this sort are so promptly answered, and yet we cannot help but say that our little village is ever faithful in good works, and all calls for good are answered as promptly as this one.
