KANNAPOLIS -- Cecil Bolick Upright, 97, formerly of 2603 Powerline St., died Saturday (Jan. 4, 2003) at Big Elm Nursing Center after an illness of three years.
Born Aug. 31, 1905, in Iredell County, Mrs. Upright was a daughter of the late Rufus A. and Bessie Helms Bolick. She was educated in the Iredell County schools and a member of Gods Church of Faith.
She retired in 1971 after 57 years from Cannon Mills, where she worked in the spinning room and No. 5 weave room.
Her husband, Robert O. Upright, preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughter Geraldine Phillips, Kannapolis; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Whitley's Funeral Home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Jeff Upright. Burial, Greenlawn Cemetery,China Grove.
Visitation: 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.
