Dad was a dedicated and loving single parent. He raised five children with a Catholic education and he prayed A LOT! We thrived with frequent trips to Canon Beach thus inspiring us to love nature and its healing properties. His Catholic faith was a constant companion in personal and business relationships. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. June 6, 1994 at Holman's Funeral Service.
Mass will be at 1 p.m. June 7, 1994 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
The Beaverton resident died June 2, 1994 of congestive heart failure. He was 78.
He was born Dec. 1, 1915 in Portland. he attended Grant High School, Linfield College and the University of Oregon.
He was the First Junior Citizen of Eugene in 1943 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He worked at the Oregon Journal and Eugene Register-Guard. He also was owner of Broderick Insurance.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia; daughters, Bridget Inglis of Beaverton, Jennifer Broderick of Billings, Mont., A. Ann Merrill of Portland and Kathleen Richardson of Pendleton; son, Christopher of Portland, brother, Donald F. of Portland; and seven grandchildren.
