Visitation was Tuesday, May 29, at Colbert Memorial Chapel, Tuscumbia. The service will be noon today at Colbert Memorial Chapel, with Brother Greg Beasley and Brother Roger Houston officiating.
Mr. Berry was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Alcy Berry, and brother, Willard Berry.
Mr. Berry is survived by his wife of 52 wonderful years, Wanda Houston Berry; sons, Bevan Berry (Shelley), of Tuscumbia, Deron Berry (Crystal), of Baton Rouge, La.; daughter, Sabrina Berry Powell (Brian), of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Ryleigh, Kaitlyn, Payton and Wesley Berry, Cheney and Lawson Powell and Justin Gossett; brother, Claude L. Berry (Alice), of Tuscumbia; sisters, Mary Meadows (Jim), of Muscle Shoals, Carolyn Woodruff (Bill), of Tuscumbia, and Jeanette Sparks (Hill), of Tuscumbia; and sister-in-law, Libby Berry, of Florence, Ala.
Billy was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from TVA after 31 years of loyal service.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Nixon, Doug Myhan, Sammy Dennis, Wayne Jeffreys, Ray Counts and Brian Berry (nephew).
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry McGee's Sunday School Class from Valley Grove Baptist Church, Wayne Underwood and Marvin Lowery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of Valley Grove Baptist Church or charity of choice.
