We first find Aunt Betty O'Farrell on the 1860 Federal Census, Thomaston, Upson Co, GA; then 1870 Federal Census, Greenville, Butler Co, AL and 1880 Federal Census, Sardis, Butler Co, AL; I also obtained some family history in the 1965 Hickman/Halso book, and some information came from Joseph Mastin Hickman's Bible in possession of Pinkney Newell Huguley. In the 1880 Federal Census, she is listed as Lizzie and living with her first husband Richard Leander Wood who dies two years later on 28 Feb 1882. She had six children by Richard Leander Wood and they live to be adults. When Richard died in 1882, 3 years later she married Newton (Newt) C. O'Farrell on Jul 10 1885 in Butler Co, AL. On April 18, 1886 she has her first child with Newt O'Farrell and his name was Zuell Colin O'Farrell, who became a Baptist evangelist and also opened a boys home, which is now known as the Georgia Baptist Children's Home in Georgia. By the time the second child, Felix O'Farrell was born on Jan 5, 1889 there must have been problems in the marriage, because by the 1890's he appears to have gone to Mississippi. I was told that some of the old children from the first marriage, didn't care for his ways, and ran him off. To date I haven't found a divorce record. In 2010, I found out from someone in the Zuell Colin O'Farrell line that the second child named Felix O'Farrell died on Mar 12, 1893 as the result of burns he received when he fell into a fire. Felix is buried by his Mother at Sardis. Newt's date of leaving Pigeon Creek is based on the 1900 Federal Census for Ellisville, Jones County, MS where we find Newt married to Leona (Dovie) Elizabeth Hyatt, and it show they have been married 10 years (note I found a marriage record for them on Sep 11 1903 in Jefferson Co, AL),and have 4 children living in the household, and Zuell Colin O'Farrell, from previous marriage is living with him in Mississippi.

So far I can't find Aunt Betty on the 1900 Census, but on the 1910 Census, Pigeon Creek, she is living with Nathan (Nat) O Matthews and her daughter Beulah E. Wood. However, the interesting part for this census is that someone states on the 1910 Census that she is Margaret E. Wood and reports that she has 6 children and all or living. No one accounts for the baby girl who died in 1873, or the two children with Newt O'Farrell. In 1920 Census for Greenville, Butler Co, AL Margaret is living with her youngest son Claude Lee Wood. In the 1930, per the Census just before she died, she is living with Aaron Asbury Hilliary Wood her oldest son by Richard Leander Wood.
