Agnes M. Austin
Agnes M. (Henke) Austin, 76, of 220 N. 20th St., died in a La Crosse nursing home Saturday, July 26, 1986.
She was born March 8, 1910, in Thorp, WI, to Louis and Louise (Baldeschwiler) Henke. She married John Austin in Los Angeles. He died April 17, 1969.
She was a 1931 graduate of Granview School of Nursing in La Crosse. She worked many years in hospitals in Los Angeles and Milwaukee. Until her retirement, she worked as a nurse in the Gund Nursing Home and later at the St. Joseph Nursing Home, both in La Crosse.
Survivors are two sisters, Mary Weix of Abbotsford, WI and Veronica Freisinger of La Crosse.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at the Schumacher-Kish Funeral Home, La Crosse, and at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph the Workman Cathedral. The Rev. J. Floyd Dwyer will officiate. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, where a rosary will be recited at 4 p.m.
