Marjorie Maxine Beldt, age 91, formerly of Pecatonica, IL died Thursday, May 24, 2012, at Manor Court in Liberty Village, Freeport, IL.

Marjorie was born May 21, 1921, daughter of Arthur and Helen (nee Schofield) Nath, on her grandparent's farm in Rural Rock Run Township. She graduated from Freeport High School. After graduating, she worked for Crum & Forester Insurance Co. and Burgess Battery. Marjorie married Francis Beldt on July 10, 1943, at her parent's home in Lancaster Township. Marjorie and her husband, Francis, spent many years farming, first helping with her parent's farm, then working their own land. After they moved to Pecatonica, Marjorie and Francis wintered in Florida for 13 years, and made many friends. Marjorie and Francis loved to take morning walks together. She loved watching old westerns, reading books and baking cookies at the holidays to share with friends and family. Marjorie attended and volunteered at the Meet and Eat program in Pecatonica for 20 years; she attended the Pecatonica United Methodist Church and worked in the Pecatonica High School cafeteria as a cook. Marjorie loved going to her grandchildren's sporting events and going to the fair to watch her great-grandchildren show their sheep. She was always willing to help others in need and showed her love by doing acts of kindness for them.

Marjorie is survived by children, Janet (Don) Kluck of Lena, IL, Judy (Jim) Koplin of Ripon, WI, and Mary Frances (Micheal) Eaton of Pecatonica; grandchildren, Bob (Sue) Kluck of Freeport, Steven (Anna) Koplin of Ripon, Lisa (Tim) Ling of Naperville, and Matthew (fiancé Shannon) Eaton of Belvidere; great-grandchildren, Keri, Kayla, Kelsie and Cody, and their mother, Deb Siegmeier; nieces, Skip Wilkinson and Nancy Moeller; nephews, Rich Beldt and Roger Beldt; and sister-in-law, Gladys Nath.
