Vlademir 'Dunko' Yonkovich, 79, of Chisholm, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at his residence.
He was born June 6, 1928, in Chisholm to Marko and Jennie (Mundasich) Yonkovich. He was a 1946 graduate of Chisholm High School and had been a lifelong Chisholm resident. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Dunko was united in marriage on Nov. 28, 1957, in Chisholm to Joan M. 'Coco' Sertich. He worked for the Chisholm Public Safety Department as a police officer and firefighter, retiring in 1983 after 23 years of service. He was a member of the Minnesota Peace Officers Association. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening.
He is survived by his sister, Anne Riley; numerous nephews, nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Joan M. 'Coco' on Aug. 6, 2004; brothers: William and Sylvester; and sisters: Bertha Berchin (Nov 30 1974) and Mildred Vukonich.
