Born on Aug 20th, 1933
Born into a New Life on November 27, 1981

Upon graduating from St Patrick High School in Chicago in 1951, Ronald Edward Wagner joined the Christian Brothers on June 15th of that year, and was known in Religious Life as Brother Hermes George. After completeing his Bachelor's Degree at St Mary's College in Winona, Minneota, he taught at St Mel High School in Chicago from 1956-1966. From 1966 until his untimely death, he taught at St Joseph High School, where he served as Business Manager, Band Moderator, Bus Driver, Teacher, and the Director of Computer Education. In addition to his responsibilities at St St Joe's, he was also very active in the Catholic Youth Orginization. A recognized authority in the field of computer science, he wrote text books for the high school math curriculum and was instrumental in bringing computers into the high school classroom. He also served as President of the Archdiocesan Math Teachers Association adn was a former president of The Metropolitan Math Club. In 1980 he was honored by the University of Chicago as the High School Teacher of the Year.

His many interests included travel, history, astronomy, archery, wood carbing, oil painting, music, and reading. He was gifted with a quick wit, and he was a very generous, kind-hearted and concerned individual.

After visiting his family on Thanksgiving day, and while visiting with friends that evening, he suffered a sudden and fatal heart attack. During his short lifetime, he touched the hearts and minds of thousands, and has helped make the world a better place to live in.
