Civil War Service: He enlisted as a private Sep 1 1861 and mustered in to Co L 2nd Ohio Cav. at Camp Case, Cleveland, Ohio. He transferred with most of his unit to the 25th Ohio Ind. Lt. Art. Batt. on Feb 17 1863 at Crane Creek, Barry, Missouri. He mustered out at the end of his enlistment at Little Rock, Ark. on Jul 30 1865.

He married Carrie Sentus. They had one daughter, Nellie/Nila (1871-??)

He was living in Solon at the time of the 1890 Schedule of Soldiers.
