She was born on December 24, 1919 in Freeport, Il, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Weier) Leggett.
She married Woodrow Lorenz on April 12, 1940 in Freeport, Il, he later died on January 3, 1968. Caryl was a Micro Switch Employee for 27 ½ years, and was a member of Our Reedeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and crocheting.
Caryl is survived by her two sons Kenneth Lorenz of Raynesford, MT, and Gerald (Linda) Lorenz of Hermitage, TN; her daughter Joyce Brinkmeier of Lena, IL; five grandchildren; Catherine (Chris) Mutschler of Ellisville, MO., Gerald "Butch" Lorenz (special friend Tammy) of Mt Juliet, MO., Heather (Jackie) Huff of Old Hickory, TN, Caryle Lorenz of KS and Gayle Turintin of KS; ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother William, one grandson Steven, one son-in-law Tom, and one daughter-in-law Gayle. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday April 9, 2012 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport with Pastor Stephen Precht officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of service at Burke-Tubbs. Burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport. A memorial has been established in her memory.
