He married Tonya Jenkins, March 27, 1998 in the Bountiful LDS Temple. Ryan split time on both coasts, growing up in Utah and New Hampshire. He attended Bonneville High School (1988) and went on to graduate from Weber State University with a Bachelors of Arts in Communications (1997).
Ryan was a popular FM Disc Jockey in the early "90s in Northern Utah. Known as "The Hitman", Ryan entertained listeners throughout the Wasatch front, and later in Central California. Ryan eventually made the jump to television, where he was a beloved sportscaster in the Central Coast of California on KSBY. He also had a passion for mixed martial arts, with his website MMAweekly.com, Ryan started a live Internet radio show that gained quite a following. At his death, he was working for The Fight Network, a Canadian based cable channel with aspirations of launching in the United States as News Director and Lead Anchor.
He is survived by his wife Tonya; children Ashley, Allison, Jada and Braden; Parents Richard and Donna Bennett, St. George, UT; siblings Shauna (Dave) Beckett, Denver; Rick (Wendy) Bennett, Lehi, UT; SueAnn, Salt Lake City; Randall, New York City. He was preceded in death by his sister Sherilynn. Funeral service will be held Friday, June 16, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. at the Harrisville 10th Ward Chapel, 1650 North 400 West. Family and Friends may call on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. and on Friday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the North Ogden, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
