Funeral services for Mrs. William Thomas DesCombes, 89, life-long Leeton resident who died at 9:30 p.m., March 4, at Wetzel Hospital, Clinton, were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 7, at the Leeton Methodist Church. The Reverends Michael E. Spalding and James Mohler officiated.

Pallbearers were Porter Baker, Gene Dritt, Glen Seely, Osbern Greer, Milt Miller, Lee Hoard and D.W. Frasher. Burial was in Mineral Creek Cemetery, Leeton.

Minnie Idella DesCombes was born Feb. 6, 1876 in Johnson County, the daughter of Aaron and Martha Elizabeth Miller Culp.

In 1894 she married William Thomas DesCombes at Leeton, where they spent their married lives. Mr. DesCombes died March 27, 1950. Also preceding Mrs. DesCombes in death were a daughter, Mrs. Edna Thomas, in 1952 and a son, Jesse E. DesCombes, in 1953.

Mrs. DesCombes was a member of the Methodist Church.

She had been in failing health for the past year and previous to her death had been hospitalized since Jan. 16.

She leaves four daughters, Miss Lucile and Mrs. Anabel Akers, Leeton, Mrs. Rice (Bera) Hill, Holden, Mrs. George (Willa Ruth) Holly, Trenton; a son, Dean H. DesCombes, Leeton; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles F. Culp, New Rockford, N.D.; many other relatives and friends.

She is survived by four daughters: Miss Lucille DesCombes, Mrs. Annabel Akers, Mrs. Rice Hill and Mrs. George Holley; one son, Dean DesCombes; 16 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; one brother, Charles Culp.
