BENJAMIN E. DORR
COULUMBIA - Benjamin E. Dorr, 78, died at a Milbridge nursing home March 20, 1978, following a long illness. He was born at Columbia Falls May 12, 1899, teh son of Gilbert and Annie (Donovan) Dorr. He is survived by his wife Iva M. Dorr of Columbia; two sons, Embert Dorr of Fort Fairfield, Robert Dorr of Portland; nine daughters, mrs. Gertrude Smith of Harrington, Mrs. Arlene Atwater of Steuben, Mrs. Eleanor Chipman and Mrs. Barbara Pinkham, both of Milbridge, mrs. Wilma Newcomb, Mrs. Laura Ramsay, Mrs. Leona Merriet, all of Addison, Mrs. Betty Chipman of Southwest Harbor, mrs. Donna Smyder of POrtland; one brother, George Dorr of Marshfield; one sister, Mrs. Laura Merchant of Milbridge; 51 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at teh home of Mrs. Laura Ramsay, Addison, Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Vining officiating. Burial will be in teh family lot in the Mailey Hill Cemetery, Columbia. Friends may call at the residence anytime.
