Beth married the love of her life, Christopher Dodd, on September 14, 1968 in Innis and they settled in Mary Esther, FL in 1970. Beth was a founding and active member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Mary Esther, FL. She worked for thirty six years at Fort Walton Beach, High School where she taught Home Economics and coached cheerleading.
Family was everything to Beth. She surrounded herself with the people she loved and who loved her the most. She knew what was truly important and her home reflected that. Beth was always there to cook a great meal and entertain friends and family. She and Chris also enjoyed traveling in their camper, hiking and spending time with their daughters and sons in law. Beth is a proud breast cancer survivor and walked the survivor's walk for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Baton Rouge this past March.
Beth is survived by her husband of 44 years, Chris Dodd of Eunice and her two daughters Anne Michelle Dodd Barnett and husband James, and Christine Elizabeth Dodd Ruth and husband Daniel both of Birmingham, AL. She is survived by her mother, Emily Anne Ewing of Innis; two sisters, Mary Linda Ewing Dupre and husband Paul of Broussard and Margaret Ewing Shields and husband James of Innis; and two brothers Michael Ewing of Vidalia and Matthew Ewing and wife Chery of St. Francisville. She also survived by one brother in law, James Dodd and wife Oliva of Eunice, numerous nieces and nephews, and soon to be grandson, William Hayes Barnett.
Beth was preceded in death by her father, the late R. Sidney Ewing of Innis.
Flowers may be sent to St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church or memorial contributions may be made in Beth's name to Miles Perret Cancer Services (www.milesperretcenter.org) 2130 Kaliste Saloom Road #200, Lafayette, LA 70508.
