MRS. RACHEL ALLEN DEAD
Mrs. Rachel Anna Allen, colored, died this morning at 12:45 o'clock at her home 901 East street, after a year's illness.
Rachel Anna Douglass was born March 29, 1854 in Gillington county, Tennessee. She was married to James C. Allen in 1874. Mr. and Mrs. Allen moved to Kansas in 1877, and settled in Emporia. Mr. Allen died 30 years ago. Mrs. Allen was a member of the St. James Baptist church, and of Neano Chapter, No. 13 of the Colored Eastern Star. She is survived by a brother, George Douglass, of Kansas City, and a granddaughter, Mrs. Loui West, of Emporia.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the St. James Baptist church. Rev. C.P. Morrow, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Interment will be made at Maplewood cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Allen who died Saturday morning, were held this morning at the home 901 East street. Rev. C.P. Morrow, pastor of the St. James Baptist Church, conducted the services. Interment was made at Maplewood cemetery.
