Deepest sympathy is extended to Mrs. Pete Baugh and family in the death of Mr. P. Baugh at his home last Monday morning, four miles west of Athens. Mr. Baugh had been sick for some time with pneumonia. His passing away was a shock to relatives and friends. He had been a resident of Claiborne parish all of his life, born and reared here. Was married to Miss Emma Miller in his early manhood. To this union was born four children, two died several years past. Surviving ones are his widow, Mrs. Emma Baugh, two children, one son, Cleveland Baugh, one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Dutton of Athens; one sister, Mrs. Maggie Alexander, Minden and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mr. Baugh was born in 1858, would have been 80 years of age in April '38. He had been a member of the Primitive Baptist church, Mt. Paron, for 56 years, always attending his church when not providentially hendered. Funeral services was conducted at his home Tuesday morning by his pastor, Rev. A.E. Brown, Homer, with interment in the Arlington, cemetery, Homer, in charge of the Conger funeral home, Arcadia.
