On November 23, 2010, Tim L. Childers entered into his heavenly reward surrounded by family and friends. Tim spent his life in service to his community as pastor of the Community Church of Jesus Christ on Wick Road. Not only did he stand behind the pulpit every Sunday morning but Tim also found great fulfillment in picking up children for church and fixing pancakes and bacon to ensure each child had a full stomach before church.
Born on July 1, 1951 in Steubenville, OH a son of the late Woodrow and Erma Reed Childers, Tim lived each day with a zeal for life, flying ultra light aircrafts and farming the land in Meadville, WV where he lived for thirty eight years. But Tim's ultimate adventure was marrying his wife, Janice Stephen Childers. Married for forty years, Tim and Janice have four children; Jasmin Thomas, Matthew ( Mary Jo ) Childers, Noah ( Kristin ) Childers and Rebecca Childers as well as five grandchildren; Addy Childers, Latisha Thomas, Jude Childers, Sophia Childers and Shayna Thomas.
Friends will be received at Furbee Funeral Home, Middlebourne, Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm where services will be held Saturday 11:00 am with Pastor Brian Kincaid officiating. Interment in Long Cemetery, Wick Road.
While he will be dearly missed here we look forward to seeing him again someday in heaven. As Tim would say, "Be paid up, prayed up and ready to go."
