Major Carl C. Amick, 81, of Rockford died at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, in his residence.

Major Carl served as an officer with the Salvation Army for 42 years. He had been a Visitation Pastor for The Rockford Temple Corps since 1997. He was a teacher of "The Twelve Steps with God" at the Rockford Rehabilitation Center, and he loved to sing in the string band.

Survived by his wife, Betty of Rockford; along with a son; two daughters; two grandsons; and one granddaughter.

Service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, at The Salvation Army, Rockford Temple Corps, 500 S. Rockford Ave., Rockford, IL 61104.

A time of fellowship and refreshments will be provided after the service.
