"Samuel H. Kem, 83, died at the Reid Memorial Hospital in Richmond 16 Dec 1943. He was a resident of Lynn and a member of the Lynn IOOF Lodge. He is survived by two sons, Ralph of near Muncie and Dr. Charles Kem of Richmond, eight grandchildren and one brother C.W. Kem of Winchester. Burial was in Williamsburg Cemetery.
