Services for JAMES WILLIAM LONGFELLOW will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Kercheval Funeral Home, Sheridan.

Mr. Longfellow, 71, Sheridan, died Oct 30, 1998, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.

Formerly of Pickard and Frankfort, Mr. Longfellow worked 46 years as a grinder operator at Delco Remy, Division of General Motors, Anderson. He retired in 1993.

He also worked evenings and weekends at the Butler Marathon service station in Frankfort, and other stations here.

He was a 1945 graduate of Sugar Creek High School, and served in the U.S. Army form 1950-52. He was a member of a Baptist church in El Paso, Texas.

He was born Sept 21, 1927, in Tipton County to Carl B. and Thelma Lee Pearson Longfellow. He married Mary Ann Smith in 1950, and she died Jan 15, 1989. He married Janet K. Cutshall on Sept 20, 1991, and she survives.

He also is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Denny (Debra) Pickering of Frankfort; three sisters, Nancy Bailey of
Frankfort, Virginia Smith of Tipton and Marjorie Reed of Big Springs; one grandson, and two great-grandchildren.

A sister preceded him in death.

The Rev. Phillip Robinson will officiate services.

Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Kirklin.
