Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Singer, 88, of 227 Hargett, are set for 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church, with a nephew, the Rev. Aaron Singer of La Marque, officiating, assisted by the Rev. David Smith. Graveside services and burial are set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the East Bernard City Cemetery, under direction of Freeport Funeral Home.
Mrs. Singer died at her home Wednesday morning. She was born in Texas and had lived in this area about 17 years.
Her survivors include three sons, Lee Singer of Clute, Joe Ed Singer of Jacinto City, and John Singer of Houston; three daughters, Mrs. Aline Voss of Clute, Mrs. Ethel Drinkwater of La Marque, and Mrs. Myrtle Crutcher of Houston; a brother, George Sanderson of Jewitt; 18 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
