Jefferson City News-Tribune (MO) - Thursday, July 14, 2005:

Elsie C. Knernschield, age 89, of Olean, died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born December 1, 1915, in Henley, a daughter of William and Wilhelmina Propst Ott. She was married to Lawrence Knernschield on October 3, 1939, and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1985.

She was a homemaker and a farmer. At one time she worked at Oberman Manufacturing Company in Jefferson City and at International Shoe in Eldon. She was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Honey Creek.

Her survivors include: two daughters, Carolyn Knernschield of the home and Jeannette Fischer and husband Gus, Jr., of Lohman; three sisters, Emma Blochberger of Eugene; Esther Jungmeyer and husband Oscar and Ruth Burton all of Jefferson City; two grandchildren, Mark Fischer and Christy Unekis, and two great grandchildren, Brian and Ashley Unekis. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Ernest, Edgar, Wilmer, and Paul Ott, and one sister, Frieda Schubert.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m.. Friday, July 15, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church-Honey Creek, with Pastor Russ Bowder officiating. Interment will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery-Honey Creek. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.. today, July 14, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church-Honey Creek. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran School Building Fund-Honey Creek or the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are under the direction of the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville.
